Anybody know about a Lab that will test a single oil sample from a hobbyist?

If yes, share the details :)

Added: OK, which tests should I ask for? Where can I read about normal ranges for test results?

All I am curious about now is metal particulates and traces of antifreeze....

I work in a petrcochem lab so can hook you up, but depending on what tests you want run it can be $$$$$$$$

Almost any Caterpiller tractor dealer can do it for around $10-$15. Oil sampeling can be an invaluable tool for diagnosing problems before they become very expensive. Use your judgement on the results. Some amount of silicons (dirt), aluminum, steel, etc is normal.

Herguth labs out of bay area San Francisco Ca. If you really want to follow up on this I can get you the direct address. Email me at my email to obtain.
