hello people; I drive a 94 Astro van daily.Mostly highway. It uses the same filter as the Buick. I just did an oil change (mobil 1) yesterday and the oil was in there for 6500 miles. The van has over 214,000 miles and I didn't have to add any oil in that 6500 miles. I think that's pretty dam good. The chevy 4.3 is a great engine. In the summer it does burn oil a little.
