I have disconnected the TCC solenoid at the transmission and like the car's response better now. I do not like the torque converter locking up. If I leave the TCC disconnected will it cause any damage to the transmission? I just drive the car occasionally and mainly on short runs.

Not a good thing to do since the cooling circuit is effected too much unlocked if its supposed to be. Highway driving would be really bad for it unlocked. Put in a non locking valve if you want to drive around unlocked so the cooling circuit will perform as it should. You would be better off with a lighter non lockup converter for performance if you have the $ and dont like lockup converters. The valve is located in the pump body and can be replaced easily with internal snap ring pliers by dropping the pan.
