opening PL files for dummies

I'v got the PLC and have no problems reviewing my own recorded files, but when I try to open one from this forum I can't. I get a popup box that ask's me to open or save. No matter what I try to do I get stuck.

Can someone please give me an explanation for dummies.

What I do is first I created a new folder to store logged runs.Shortcut it to desktop.

Save all your logged runs to that folder.

Now, open your powerlogger console and click "load"---it'll ask to "look in" and you'll browse to your new folder and click open---then choose the run you want to view---click OK and it'll be ready to review.

You load files through the PL console not through opening a .dat file.
