opinion on a 86 GN value

Ran across a 86 GN today,loaded with speed parts,but the owner had traded for this car and didn't know anything about GN's and has prob burned a piston..it's got a ton of blow by out the breathers. It has a precision after market computer,for fuel managment,a bigger turbo,poss at TA 60,and a stock mount big IC...a single shot 3' with a ATR DP...boost a pump,a plenum,line lock,a after market digital dash,air bags etc....unknown miles,the body is ok,with one dent in the right quarter,no biggie...serveral chrome parts,and accessories

What is this thing worth? needs tore down....and maybe a rebuild......atleast a piston

I would tell you not much. I would also say that I doubt it has a burnt piston. I probably has a bad head gasket among other things. As far as the description goes It's difficult to tell what performance parts are on the car ie: actual turbo/injector size etc. If I was going to buy a project like you describe I wouldn't want to pay more than $3500 for it. Keep in mind you have no idea what the car drives like. The trans could be bad etc.

could be a head gasket,but it had serious blow by,and no white smoke out of the tail pipe.....had a miss....scares me...but if it was cheap....i'd try it....the guy is looking for 5k....

If you could get it for $3500, I would buy it. Those parts alone will cost $3500.
