Only my 3rd time at the NATS ('95, 00', 05') but this year seemed pretty good compared to recent years (from what I heard). Guys that I spoke with who have been attending since GLORY years of the late 80's early 90's said this year was almost a throw-back to those times.

Not quit as many cars (those days are long gone due to time and attrition), but a LOT of people and a decent amount of vendors too.

And of course EXCELLENT racing!

I met some very nice people..................and had a great time!

Oh yeah, first time WITH my Buick and I took 1st place in my show class  . Kinda cool.

What wasn't cool was my 17 hour drive home and my ticket for not wearing my seat belt  .

Another victim of police harassment with the "click it or ticket" campaign.

At least in Az they can not pull you over unless they spot another violation.

Oh ya, one little side note........................I saw Dennis Gage from "My Classic Car" interviewing owners. Also one of the guys (don't know there names) from "Hot Rod TV" was there doing the same.

I guess we should be on the look-out for those episodes.

I would have an opinion if I actually remembered anything.. :)

That's because you drive too slow!:D

Ever see that guy that went with us to the NEBRA show a couple years back??

was my first time there and i had a really good time. i liked that buick blackhawk showcar or whatever with the efi 455 in it. that thing was sweet. as was GNX #001

the drag racing was good but i couldn't hear the announcer half the time so i didn't know what classes were running or what was going on. on top of that i finally had to drag my butt out of the stands and hang off the fence because no matter where i sat those damn poles supporting the overhang were in the way of the et board at the end of the track.

easy access to the track from the campgrounds too:cool:

This was my first year back to the Nats after a 4 year hiatus and it's like nothing changed. A few more hotels and some more places to eat.

The car show could have been a little bigger as I was expecting a larger turbo car count. The cars that entered were top-notch. I think I counted 8 GNX's including #001 but only 2 or 3 TTA's.

The racing was awesome and spectating from a covered grandstand is a nice feature.

The weather turned out great with the exception of a nasty thunderstorm that blew through on Thursday afternoon.

All told, I had a great time and got to see a lot of good friends.

Bill, congrats on the show class win and it was nice chatting with you!

I really enjoyed this year the most of all, lots of nice clean cars and excellent racing. I really wish the promoter of the event (Richard L.) would pay out more purse money to the racers and show classes. They are the ones that make the event possible. If no one showed up then there would not be an event.
