I'm installing my spearco intercooler, putting in brand new 32lb injectors and getting a tune. The only mod my car has is an 87 ECM. I have not adjusted the boost in any way. I want to order a chip from turbotweak because I have a stock 87 chip that is probably not making my hot air run its full potential. I just want to install my intercooler on my car and I dont plan on cranking up my boost until I get a new fuel pump and adj. regulator. A stock hot air runs 12 psi stock, correct? If I order a chip and say I want to run about 15-17 psi in the future and only run 12 psi now, will that make it run poorly? Or should I just order the chip and say im running stock boost for now, even though I have an intercooler. Sorry if this is confusing. :o Should I wait and just get the chip until I plan on cranking up the boost?

I agree that you should call Eric. I do not do this unless I am at a stall point. The stall point is where your car is in tune and no performance or knock. I wonder if your problem is related to no scan tool issues. Eric can only help once your car is in tune. Been there done it. Good luck. Brad

I use my laptop as a scan tool and everything checks out fine. I just thought that the stock 87 chip was incorrect for my hot air. I thought a custom chip may make it run better than it is now. I'm putting in new injectors because my current ones are leaking again (I should of never bought used "low" mileage ones)and the new ones are 32lb. I also thought that I needed some sort of tune to help with my intercooler setup. lol, im confused. I guess I need to call Eric.

... I guess I need to call Eric.

Good idea, make sure you get your blm's squared away before doing anything else to the car. If you are going to put on an intercooler and do some serious tuning you should upgrade to a Power Logger or at least Direct Scan and ditch WinALDL which is equivilent to Turbo Link. They would be okay for a stock car just to see how everything is doing, but you are going to need better. You will be happy you did, 18-25 frames per second of information compared to 1 frame every second or so.

when you call eric just talk to him tell him what you plan on doing and what you have done. he will set you up.
