Just wondering how these cars came from the factory. Before I had my car repainted a few years ago it still wore the original factory paint job. Of course it was faded with plenty of orange peel but the bumpers appeared to be a flat black. Possibly they had faded more than the rest of the body over the years I'm not sure. My car was redone with flat black bumpers which is what I assumed to be original.
Over time I've seen many GNs with clear coat bumpers matching the rest of the body. This is a pretty neat look IMO and I've considered having my bumpers redone but would like to know if this is original.
So, for you guys that took delivery of your cars back in 86/87 how were your GNs sprayed when they rolled off the showroom floor?

Original were gloss black, like the rest of the car. Yes, the original luster fades quickest on the bumpers - not sure why.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I'll eventually get around to having them redone. I was hoping that was the way GM did the cars originally.
