Well the title is about "fear". I don't know if it's mutual respect or fear, but both '03 Cobras I've run into on the street have not tried anything funny with me in the GN. Sort of this uneasy normal, sane side-by-side acceleration looking at each other out of the corner of our eyes. Neither wanted to provoke the other - kind of funny.

Ya, I've had the same thing happen in both the GN and Cobra. Only thing I "fear" on the streets is the law. After almost getting nailed for a drag racing ticket when I was simply driving beside another car at 40mph, I've become much more timid about doing anything on the street. There's a gorgeous '86 here in town, but he won't even look over at me. I'd just like to pull over and check out his ride, but he won't acknowledge so I just drive on. I've heard there are quite a few TRs frequenting the local 1/8th mile, so I look foward to seeing them there. People are much more knowledgeable about TRs down here, than they were up north!

I don't know why, but everytime I make a traffic stop on a GN with tinted windows the hair on the back of my neck stands up. That car gives me the willies.

I too am from Alabama.. sounds like you live in either Huntsville or Birmingham area as there are only 3 1/8 th mile tracks in N Al ... I se you have a SC Cobra . I am looking @ a green//purple//blue faded one sticker is 33K. I have read magazine adds like the one in car Craft where they got 510/HP an 517TQ to the rear wheels for just $2300.00 in parts.. This blows my mind. But still have not made up my mind as of yet.. So anyways welcome to alabama we don't really all date our sisters down here an eat moonpies. I stopped moonpies a long time ago.LOL

Ya, just moved here last November. I'm living in Decatur, right off of 65. I'm not too keen on 1/8th mile tracks, but they're so close it's hard to pass up. The closest 1/4 mile is in Steele, which is about 50mins away. Once they finish their rennovations, it should be pretty nice.
If you've found a Mystichrome 04 for $33k, that's a pretty good deal being below sticker. Most dealers have them marked up. I'm guessing it's a coupe, at that price? We had both a coupe and convertable at the local Ford dealership. Not my cup of tea, but pretty cool. If you decide to buy, you will not be disappointed. The responsiveness to mods is very similar to the TRs!

I am 15 minutes from the Steele track, I hear the track is finished an they are suppost to open in 2 weeks.. I sold my GN a while ago, so I am on the hunt to find another in good condition.. Lety me know when you come down I would like to see that car run...
