I've found that my car has the QWH code for the white letter Eagle GT's, I know you can't get those (and they were crappy anyway) but who makes an outlined white letter similar to the GT's? Everything seems to be the solid white letters that really stand out more than I want. Thanks!

Yokahama Avid ST has a outlined white letter tire like you are asking about. Seems like a good tire for the $ based on reviews. I considered these but went with the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's a few months ago. Read the reviews at tirerack.com I can't recall any other outline white letter tires presently being made? HTH. :)

Yokahama Avid ST may be a good tire, but if you are going through the trouble to accurately resore the car with original-like tires... a rice tire name spelled out in white outline letters may not cut it. Just my 2¢. Paul

Thanks for the replys. I'll check those tires out.

I've always been a fan of the 60's & 70's musclecar look, so I thought
it was cool that my car had the white letter code. I watched an musclecar auction show on TLC last night and all the cars coming through had Eagle GT II's on them.

Eagle GT II only comes as a raised white letter. And they dont make a 215/65-15! I cant recall the last time I saw OWL tires. You know you might try google'ing these. I'm always looking for oddball tire sizes and every once in awhile I see somebody selling discontinued tires. I bet there is some local or regional brand out there making copies of the old Eagle GT. I didn't have the time to check but I was thinking I saw something over at Coker Tire too.

I had all four Eagle GT II's on my car in 235/60's and they sucked. No wet traction, no dry traction, and wouldn't even hold a shine with Armor-all. Couldn't wait to get rid of them. I do know where there is a set of four Eagle GT+4's for sale in the 215/65 size.
