Should the output shaft (where the driveshaft goes) have any up and down play on a TR transmission? TIA

yes and no...

with the driveshaft in, no. w/o the driveshaft yes. the outer surface of the yoke on the driveshaft is the part that actually "touches/ rides" in the output bushing, not the shaft. HTH's -Chuck.

I am getting a fair amount of vibration on decel from highway speeds. Crawled under the car the other day and noticed a fair amount of play at the front of the driveshaft (feels like about 1/8", it's definitely out of any kind of spec, lol). I'm guessing my output shaft bushing is shot?
Where can I get one, and is it impossible to do in the car without the special mystery tool I've read about?
