since no one brought up cosmetics.. I'd like to :p

Please, please, please don't make it look like a Heathekit Bud-Box'ed project from the 60's or 70's :p

Maybe you could offer it in a bare-bones style for those guys who don't care about looks.. but if you doll it up a bit, like a Apex or HKS boost controller, you'll draw the attention of those green-eyed money-packing ricers..I'm not saying hang a disco ball off it...but just something sleek, black or silver, with readable display..etc..

If you'd like any other ideas or design sketches, let me know and I'll do my best to help..for free. I'd just like to see some functional, yes, but contemporary looking devices for these cars and others...

Other then that, ugh.. I can't decide between alky or propain lol

LOL..you just made my day :D

its on the lines of a scanmaster. No screening, no metal plates,no visible anything cept the pump knob...effective, cute, simple. boxes come in tommorrow..hopefully..will be LED for display not LCD. And will come in a two box format..like a controller and a remote box so 6 wires/tubes wont be hanging of the back. the pump driver will be under the dash hidden, and this box will be mounted anywhere with a small diameter wire connecting both of them together.. deciding between gray and black for the wire..probably black. Box measures 2.5x2.5x1 inch high. Pixs soon..I too hate guady stuff..this cosmetic stuff is whats killing me..

That is why I was asking about the adjustability of the setup, because every car is different, and what your car seems to like would be WAY too early for me.

My turnon is at 9-10#s........no bog. We be flyin'. Of course, unsophisticated, no tuning necessary, diy kit. :p

I also have a similar case to blackbuick87, with a 44 and 23* my turn on is 15lbs. even at that I have less than 1 deg transitional knock.

So if your going 5 mph and you floor it..you dont get any retard?

Or if your at a stop..bring the boost up to 5 lbs..punch it and blow the tires you dont see any retard?

I would never get any retard if I rolled into the throttle. Or at the track..my problems have always been on the street..where conditions are never optimum. I will tell you that most wish they could set their turnon to 15 lbs. There would almost practically be no need for what i'm doing. Or the need for dual stage kits.

Suburban, what MPH does the car turn?
 
As long as I prime my system before hand, it is always less than 3* of knock. When it was colder out I dropped my t/o point to 13psi. I will say when I was running 25* of timing the KR was worse in transition. I wont run that much timing again without a 2 stage system or a device similar to what you are developing.

When I drive on the street I almost never mash the throttle from a dead stop, it just destroys the tires and accomplishes nothing. I have several turbolink files recorded of matting it from about 8 mph and minimal knock.

This is on 94 octane and I have a power plate installed BTW
 
Bob, your GN runs close to what a friend of mine does. His car traps at 110-112 at 22-23 lbs of boost. More consistent at 110 than 112.

I notice your sig says 107. Is the 107 an average? I find that if your running a bit rich the car wont detonate, the detonation usually sets in when you either up the timing or lean it out.

I always race and drive my car with the same settings. In other words, my track tune is the same as my street tune. Its easier for me to do that.. I also have found that if I lean the car out where it really needs alcohol for enrichment and detonation control..it is more likely to detonate. Hence the reason for the turnon to be lower..I run 25 lbs of boost approx. and trap around 116-118 regularly..at least 116, a bunch of 117's and occassionally a 118.xx . Some TTA's I have heard of running over 120..but it is the final tune i'm looking to trim.

I would almost bet that your alky setting would be different if the tuneup were to be changed where it needed alcohol for enrich and cooling. This is just personal experience..Lord knows I have tried almost everything...and logged progress/regress with every move. To me perfect setting is 790-800 top of first through mid 3rd then drops down to the 760-770 range at the traps.

At 107 your in the 300 rwhp range..at 117 your in the 400's rwhp.
I dyno'd my car when it trapped 114 and at that time the sheet was 414 rwhp and 608 TQ.

Both our cars will respond totally different based on those two numbers alone. I'm just giving you input based on numbers and where I have been. I too ran 107 once..actually 1 1/2 years ago. i'd love to see a 130 :)
 
107 was the run where I blew a HG havent been back since. Now I have more compression and different injectors so I dont really have an average.

Youre right our combos are very different. My combo is quite typical of a mostly stock setup. Going to the track Friday and I would love to see a 110mph, we'll see. Hard to do without slicks.
