My 87 grey T has picked up a couple paint chips. What is the best brand touch-up pen to use? The paint code is UWA8573 I think. Thanks.

Best pen is not to use one.

My tried and true method is

1) Use some type of sandpaper to clean the chip. I have an abrasive pen for small chips. Get it clean.

2) Fill the chip in layers or use a filler primer to bring the paint up level to slightly above the surface of the surrounding paint.

3) Use some 1200 grit or finer paper on a block to wetsand the repair level again

4) Buff out the sand marks.

Is there an off the shelf paint at one of the local parts stores that I can use to match my original?

If it's the factory color yes. Look for a tag on the cowl. 2 digit # and then a U or L. Thats' your color.
