Finally had my car finished after almost 3 months. Guy in west chicago Il, told me that he would paint my car and would give me a really good deal. So, I said ok because he also paints some of our squads cars at our PD. Well, I drop off my car at his shop (Bob's Autobody). I drive by the shop everyday during work and for two weeks I noticed that he has not touched my car. I go to the shop and ask when are you going to start on my car. He says "dont worry I start on it soon". Finally on the third week he takes off my bumpers and then doesn't touch my car again for another 2 weeks. By now I've had it, so I call him and tell him to have my car parked outside because I'm picking it up!
Upon arriving he apologizes to me and tells me that he promises that he will start on it immediately the next day. My dumb..... gives in. The following day he does as promised, he pulls out the dent from the driverside quarter panel. For next two weeks he doesn't touch my car. I then went to the shop and aske him can he have my car done by next week. And he looks at me with a bewildered face and says "what do you think this stuff is easy?, you try doing this!". I say to him I know it's not easy but it shouldnt take you 2 months to do my car. By the way he was suppose to paint my two doors, quarter panels and trunklid, bumpers and flares. So I give him another week and a half. A week and a half passes and all he has done is primered the driverside quarter and trunk. I said to myself f... this, so I arrive at his shop with a trailer and take my car and parts. He tells me that I owe him $900 bucks, I say to yeah ok and leave.
I was then recommended to PROPAINT by my friend Paul. Three weeks later my car is done. They painted both bumpers, front fillers, rear bumper fillers, flares, doors, roof, quarters, trunk and rocker panels. The total cost was $2,300. Let me get your guys opinions.
