Left a towel that I was using to dry off another car on the hood of my GN, garaged, not out in sunlight and forgot about it for a couple of days. Went to take the car out to a cruise last nite and removed the towel and now I have a white, hazy spot on my hood about the size of a hand! Tried going over it with some Z5 & Z2 but I can still see it. I had over 7 coats of Zaino on the car and it didn't protect it. What do I do now?

Maybe try claying the hood and see if that takes it off. Laying a buffer on it would probably take it out as a last resort. Try calling/emailing Sal Zaino to see what he says.

Good luck

Try using a high speed buffer with a fine cutting polish. Do the entire hood so you don't have a "shiny" spot. If that doesn't work use 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand it and then hit it with the high speed buffer.

Shouldn't this stuff have protected the finish from this happening? What would happen if you had your car outside in the fall and wet leaves were on it and then the sun came out??? Would you have white leave spots all over your car?

You may have just "added" to much moisture to the wax. Use something to take the wax off and try a fresh coat of wax. The buffer should work if this doesn't.

I'd try taking off the zaino on the hood. Use some dishwashing liquid and just strip off the wax off the hood.

Mark, what was on the towel? Just moisture??
I believe that #2 and #5 Zaino is a polish NOT a protective wax.

Yeah, it was just water. I used to for the final wipe on my Blazer and didn't want to just throw it on the ground so I put it on the hood of the car. The towel was barely damp. Will probably just strip the wax on that area of the hood up to the seam and see what happens.

I thought that maybe the moisture would just evaporate over a day or so since it seems that the wax soaked it up..

Thats it, the car is worthless now. Just bring it to the Derby cruise on Sunday, leave the keys in it and I'll Make sure you never have to look at it again.
Dave;)

Yeah, Dave, that's what I was thinking, I'm just going to bring it to where I work in New Haven and leave it in the parking lot with the keys in it:D

Haven't been to the Derby cruise so far this year, maybe this weekend. Why don't you come up to the Walmart Cruise in Wallingford on Sat nite. Haven't seen a lot of TR's up there this year.

I wouldn't do anything too drastic! Start by just stripping the hood with a Dawn wash. I bet it just worked at the zaino polish and hazed it a bit. I wouldn't pull out the buffer or any other abrasives. email Sal Zaino, I here he is pretty responsive. Also check out Autopia.com .

I'ma Zaino user also, So please post your results and finds!!

Good Luck
