A friend stopped by last weak to show me his newly aquired 87 T. I think he just wanted to rub in the fact that he has an intercooler!(my 85'T doesn't, damn!)
Anyhow, the car was in pretty good shape, but it origionally must have had chrome trim, or some trim was replaced that was chrome. somebody painted the chrome black. It looks kinda crappy in some places, but decent in others. Needless to say, he is going to paint all the trim black again.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the paint to stick?
Anybody know what kind of prep he should follow to prevent chipping in the near future?
How about color?-Any good brands of aerosol paint that looks good?(ie.flat, semi gloss, wrinkle, bumper paint, etc.)
Any advice would help...Thanks!

Well, if you're using spray cans, just get a decent quality semi-flat/gloss black. If the pieces are chipped, just get some stripper and strip them. Scotchbrite the pieces and put on about 3 wet coats. Unless you send the pieces out to be power coated, it's a job you'll have to repeat from time to time as necessary. Not that big a job. ;)
