painting rubber around the side windows

Can you paint these? Mine are starting to look bad but not sure how it would hold up? Anyone?
 
I don't think paint will adhere to the rubber. You should try a bottle of "Back to Black", available at AutoZone, PepBoys, Adavance Auto, and see if that works. Rub it on the black rubber trim and take a look. I've found that it really brings back the black color. I put in on the black rubber trim of my wife's '99 Lesabre, plus the black pillar posts. Does a real nice job.

When I had the windows out for my car to get painted I hit the rubber with a gray scotchbrite pad and then sprayed them with some duplicolor "laquer" semigloss spraypaint. They look better than new and it hasnt tried to flake. Proper preparation is key.
