Parking brake cable removal

I'm about to pull the body off the frame of an 87 Turbo T. Ive managed to get the parking brake cable disconnected from the foot lever, but now it has to pass through the firewall/floorboard in order for me to get the body off. The tension doesn't allow it to be pulled through. Anyone encountered this and have any suggestions other than cutting the cable?

Hi Ron, if you use a box end wrench, 7/16 or 1/2 and slide it down over the cable to the base at the floor board it should close the fingers enough to allow the cable to be pulled through. Hope that helps,Phil.
