Hey intercooled. Do you happen to have any of the metal heat shields that bolt onto the front right side of the passenger side valve cover on the 84/85 hotair cars. It is held onto the valve cover with a 10MM nut and then also has a hold on point on the back of the A/C compressor. It protects the plugwires from the heat of the up pipe. If you have one will you please email me pics and a price shipped to 80829 to dthom8787@yahoo.com Thanks

Dusty

You dont need the shield between the heat heater pipes and intake, give me a little more detail. I just got home and Im a little tired. I should have it I've cut up a ton of 84-85 turbo cars.

The one Im looking for is not the one that covers the heater pipes. The one I am looking for is a little almost square piece that is 4 or so inches wide by 4-5 tall that has a bend in it to wrap around the side of the valve cover. It goes on the front right side of the passenger side valve cover. The valve cover bolt in this location has a stud coming off the top of it that the little 10MM nut screws onto to hold this plate in place. The shield is also held in place on the back of the A/C compressor mount by a 1/2 in bolt. The plug wires run behind it to be protected from the heat of the up pipe. The 84 and 85 cars had them on them but not the 86/87 as far as I know. Two of my 85's have them but the third one does not. I have tried to get a pic of it but the up pipe is in the way and you cant see it. If you need I guess I could take my up pipe off to get a good shot of it, its just that that is such a PITA. Let me know. Thanks Dusty

Ok thanks. Let me know if you find one. There are two slightly different versions of it and I would prefer one over the other so if you find one please email me picks. Thanks Dusty

I have a small bracket that I think may be it , it has a part number stamped into it, I will try to get down to my shop today and check it against the part # you gave, I will post to let you know.

Even if it is not the same part# would you take a pic of it and post it for me or email it to me. The reason being is that I have seen two different versions of the heatshield but yet GM only lists one variation. Thanks Dusty
