Thought people might want a good side by side shot of these, i know i did before i bought them both...

ATR unit is very well made but the piping near the welds are thin and tend to crack, and the top of the header where it meets with the upipe, you can tell it doesnt curve completely and correctly like the stock and Poston header

The Poston unit has a bigger main pipe than the ATR, but the back of the pipe is smashed in a little to allow for clearance. :frown:
But the piping is super thick, very strong, and the ceramic coat is beautiful (we'll see how long that lasts... ). Sloppy weld job though, but thoroughly welded for sure

The photo is 5 Megapixels so you can see the detail. Sorry for u dial-up guys...get with the broadband!

wow! The secretary must've been doing the welding while the regular guy was on vacation. :D The welds on my Postons are actually really nice. I've put about 300 miles on my postons since I've put them in. So far so good. I used the copper gaskets as they suggested. But I've been told since then that they are unnesecary. I was told a good clean mating surface install with a hi-heat gasket sealer should be more than sufficient. Those thick gaskets where probably to blame for my stock crossover not fitting up exactly. I took the crossover to a local muffler shop and had them stretch it apart about a 1/4 inch. The guy strecthing it was a pretty exp. guy and does good work. He told me there would be no guarantees on the results being the way the pipe is bent. He managed to get lucky and got a good even stretch. I also took a die-grinder and shaved about a 1 1/2 inch line about 1/8ths in on the rearward shoulder on the up-pipe flange before installing to help put more clearnance between it and my downpipe. I wasn't sure how close the two would be when all was put back together, and didn't want to take a chance of creating any kind of false knock for the sensor. I've got a feeling that if the 3" downpipe becomes a reality, I'll need every bit of space I can get in that area, and may end up shaving even more off.

I put my set of Postons exhaust headers on three years ago. Zero problems-flow great. Brad

I had the Poston's on with a Turbomotion setup.
The passenger side did crack by a weld (8000 miles) and had to have it rewelded and yes mine had sloppy welds
I'm still using the driver side on my 87 setup

That link has moved. To see the picture check out my website... under pictures.
