People don't have money but yet they want to take more them.

At a time when they should be giving us a break, they are going to be squeezing us harder and harder.

Got to love our governments.

IMHO income tax should be eliminated. We are taxed plenty when we spend.

Apparently the "Making Work Pay" tax credit has ended. They signed the ending of this into law on 12-17-10

For those of us (which is many) that do not get pay increases, it's a losing battle. Your paycheck just keeps going down, down, down...Oh, and wait until your employer negotiates medical insurance...another decrease in net pay.

A sales tax would be better, but govt cannot control it like other taxes.
With a sales tax EVERYBODY pays according to how much they buy in taxable items no matter how they got the money. And in bad times you can reduce your tax burden by cutting down on taxable item purchases- the govt doesn't like that part.

My point is that we are taxed every direction we turn.

Take it from the big company's who continually have record profits. Not from us.

Like the old saying, you can't squeeze blood from a turnip. Where we going?

Yea, we even got an e-mail from payroll stating not to call them when we see a pay decrease. Health insurance is currently holding up our contract. I took a 7% pay cut in 2010, that I get back in 2011. No raise, looks like at least three years now without a pay increase. I'm happy to be working though.

HA YOU SHOULD see what i now pay for healt insurance thru my work. the amount doubled.

I bet dollars to Donuts the insurance companies are trying to make up for future losses as enrollment goes down.. Thanks to OBAMA care

Yup, Making Work Pay Credit is gone. They dropped the Social Security tax though. I'm actually getting $15 more a week than I did with the MWP credit. Damn Government. Now I have to decide what to do with the extra.

I don't know what you guys are talking about...my weekly paycheck went up $40. Whatever was done is working out good for me.

There are a lot of folks reading this and thinking, gee I just wish I had a paycheck. Very understandable. I am thankful to have a job/career.

I guess my main concern is long-term. If my paycheck keeps getting smaller and cost of living gets bigger...

As of April '10 My health insurance doubled. That hit hard.
When you're already living on the edge. You have to make some lifestyle changes.

Yeah increase the corp tax rate even more:rolleyes:
your job is now in india

If BP or Microsoft have profits in the zillions, you telling me they should not have a different tax rate?:rolleyes:

Here is another one. The Power ball game just had a record jackpot. $380 sum odd million. 2 people won. They each got 190 million. After taxes they get $90 million. Where did the $200 million go. You never ever here about that. It's suppose to go to schools but they are closing like crazy around here.

paying billions on zillions or close down, move and save millions a year...what would you do?

doesn't help to hurt the money makers...your paycheck will continue to decline until you're jobless...meanwhile the gov'ment keeps getting larger and less efficient

fantastic questions and perhaps the root of the problem...the money is plentiful...where is it going:confused:

corporations are lean, gov'ment for the most part isn't. don't make the corporations and people pay for those inefficiency

It'd be hard to move Rick's job to India, unless you can manage carwashes via remote control. ;)

Just curious, besides some IT and call center jobs, exactly which jobs have moved to India?

manufacturing, software development, engineering, accounting...more as the world becomes more educated
