I took the car out for a drive. Cruised around for 5 minutes. Also did a couple of WOT blasts for like 2 seconds. Then I went home and checked under the hood and saw that the pcv valve was not in the intake:eek: ....Did I hurt the motor with the pcv valve off the intake? I know it didn't blow off under boost.

Nope doubt you hurt a thing.

Well maybe your local smog guys feelings should you tell him. ;)

If you have valve cover breathers, then most likely not. The reason for a pcv is to ensure your blow by from your crankcase goes back into the engine. I would speculate that when you floor it with out the pcv operarting properly ie, disconnected, plugged, removed etc. the excess psi created by the pistons would tend to blow oil through some of the gaskets that weren't meant to take psi. I've seen valve cover gaskets leak and oil dipsticks pop out. I've also seen intake gaskets leak at the valley from poor ventilation.

good thing I have vc breathers then. I saw a good amount of oil on the flat part of the intake manifold behind the runners and also close to the hole where the pcv would go into.
