Looking for a perfectly tuned run using DS in a vehicle over 120 mph trap speed..

Can someone forward its image to me or place a link..just curious :)

And finally..how did you know it was perfect :)

Just looking for tuning tips from a master

TTT..no one has a file that shows correct AF ratio throughout a run ?

Well :)

I guess that a perfect DS run doesnt exist..unless its on an ecm bench ...

Someone prove me wrong....

:)

Two Lane ..see no takers :) to the challenge..

TTT

I probably have to ask for a perfect scanmaster run to get a response

Ok, I'll bite :)

Razor...."you've got mail"

I'm a quite a bit short of the trap speed criteria, but my 11.92 @ 113 this past Wednesday looked pretty good.

T+\E so the MAF values are halved.

And finally..how did you know it was perfect

Anytime you put up an 11 where the starting line sits at 5,880 ft. of altitude - it's a decent pass :)

Got it Mile Hi GN ..nice..I can see the T+\E ..I sent you an email then figured it out..I wish there was a way to share these types of files so we could all benefit from viewing the data...Like a DS run bank :)

Nice flat AF ratio :)...Only thing is the initial O2 surge..That I guess is common with these cars cept on ecm benches :) ..

Unless Bruce would like to ponder this question..can a 7148 ECM be made to not dump fuel when the car launches..so that its not rich and maintain a stable O2 throughout the run...whereas the car launches and the O2's are in the high 700's and as the run progresses they drop into the 760-770 range..Or can a car be at 760-770's the whole run?

I also feel/think/guess :) that Direct Scan computations on AF ratio are really not real..whereas a WB would be needed to accurately tell AF ratio..Am I off on this ?s...

Thanks guys..specially Mile Hi GN for taking the initiative

;)

bruce is an ECM Ninja!

Razor, I agree with you...we need a data-log repository!

Our bud bruce carries one with him...in his head!

:)

Ok

I would be happy to host a Directscan file collection if people want it. It will be hosted on www.bmcomputersource.com and I will make a page devoted to it. I can categorize it by ET/MPH, and also by modifications (Turbo/Injector combo) or any other way you guys think is good.

Anyone who is for it, Let me know!

Bob

Way to go Bob..I was just about to talk to you about that...among other things :)..

Get a link and I'll be happy to share my runs..all of them with date and et's..possibly get a way of organizing them somehow..like subscriber/date/run#/et/mph info....

Any other ideas?

I'm in, I think it is a great idea. I've only been to the track once with DS but having knowlegable people critique the files is a plus. The more eyes the merrier as far as I am concerned.

Not to expand the purpose (or cost) but maybe we could include TurboLink files as well for our ALDL brothers.

Bob I would be happy to help with the cost if that's a concern :)

Let's see this through, this is a perfect way to leverage the Internet to improve all of our tuning skills.

Sounds good then, I'm working on it now and will have it finished tonight or Wednesday morning.

We can put up a post and invite people to send files.

:)

Paging TurboDave!

This will be great!

Let's ask the Scan Tool moderator to help with a "Sticky" on this!

:)

Sounds great, the subject should say Directscan Collection o everyone will know what we're talking about.

It's just about done, it should on-line tonight. I'll paste the link shortly.
:)

Real easy to do.
There is a table called FAPE.
Based on the time in PE. you can add or remove fuel.
It's a really interesting table to play with.

Direct Scan does NO FUEL COMPUTATIONS.
It just reports what the ecm is calling the commanded AFR.

The only way to even get close with the AFR is with a WB.
One you make several runs and match the COMMANDED AFR with the ACTUAL AFRs, then you can getting serious with what you want the ecm to do. In a nut shell that is why you should tell as few lies as possible to the ecm, that way you can correlate commanded to real numbers, and do sanity checks.
