Its probably the driveshaft bearing going out.

That tends to cause slipping when exhaust is freed up.

See, the driveshaft is directly propotional to the flow of exhaust, so when you allow more exhaust to get out, the driveshaft thus spins differently.

Its ok if you didnt know this, we understand.
