Has anyone changed their stock spark plug wires to high performance ones? How did it turn out? What kind of power gains did you see?

I put MSD wires on my car only because for some reason the whole state of Michigan ran out of stockers  Personally I don't think wires will ever give you any power gains unless maybe half of the ones you replaced were rotted through or burnt. http://www.southfloridapulleyhq.com/gtp_products_frame.htm that is where I got mine from. They were a little longer than the stockers but work fine.

I replaced my plugs w/ ngk tr55 and my wires w/ accel 8mm. I noticed a BIG difference(positive)

wires

I used Belden wires from Napa. Lifetime warrenty exchange them any time, no questions.

Do a search the Turbo Booick folks have had this discussion many times.

Hey urbs, can u notice any difference w/ the 180 stat? I have one and my temp barely moved. I have a 160 on order.:(

In the summer it is hard to tell because your fans turn on somewhere between 195-205. I have a 160 drilled and unless I have my hi-speed fan switch on it goes right up to 205 area.

EDIT: Also the stock guage isn't very accurate. Straight up and down is somewhere between 195-210. And it is slow to adjust.

stat

With the stock 195 stat my stock guage was always just under noon (200) it dropped down to ~180 with the new stat. Its not drilled.

It seems to react relatively quick tho. At a long light it will creep to 200-210 and begin to drop after driving a few blocks. I have a digital temp controller and 3 thermocouple probes I am going to mount to take various readings. That should be very accurate when I get around to actually doing it. Its just been too hot out.

:p

I have got to take control of the fans, that is really the way to go.

DAS, do you change your stat out for winter?
