i just purchased my first gn. it is an 87 with 64k on it. all original. im wanting to beef it up a little with out major work or having to do internal motor work. any sugestions that would not de-value or cause any complications. thanks
See the "spring cleaning" at GNTTYPE.ORG and start there.
Get a scan tool i.e. Scanmaster.
Get a boost gage and fuel pressure gage.
Then start bolting on parts... my first choice would be RJC power plate and boost controller.
Then performance mods can follow...
See my sig...stock internals, stock turbo things I would suggest though is aftermarket injectors...I since have gone with bigger injectors no times yet though. Mid 12's is pushing it...I might have got lucky with a few 12.2x's
edit...this was on a 160,000 mile car too!
Definately start at the fuel system!!! A new walbro 340 pump, hotwire kit and adjustable regulator should be the first mod anybody does to a turbo buick IMO. 441120 hit it right on the head for what's next-spring cleaning, scan tool, and guages (fuel and boost are the most important) then you can start modding further. You can go as fast as your wallet will allow!
