Hey guys, I have just picked up a new project car. Like the Buick it is sort of a bas#$rd car. It's a domestic but not rwd v-8 so it will not fit at the cruise in. It's fwd and powered by a foreign engine but the imports don't want to claim it either so I'll probably be shunned at the local Game Stop hang out too. Like the T, it is turbo and was fairly quick for what it was when new. In my opinion next to the Buicks, these cars were probably instrumental in introducing turbo performance to more people than any other car line.

What car am I talking about? The Diamond-Star triplets. I just bought a '90 Plymouth Laser RS turbo. It's the 5-spd fwd version but I didn't get it to race. It's going to end up being my run about. Car needs paint but the body and interior is pretty decent. It had been parked several years due to a faulty fp. PO got tired of it taking up space so they put a new pump in and sold it. Lucky me. :headbang:

I had a Talon TSI-AWD back in the early 90's and it was an awesome little car. I had always hoped to get another one someday. My plans call for just some tlc, a general freshen up, a cheapie paint job, and basic free mods. I can't let it take money away from the Buick now, can I?:D

I had a 91 Talon TSI FWD turbo and it was a neat little car. They are the exact opposite of a TR, it is a dog until like 3500 but then it SCREAMS to 7K. Handles better but rides worse. Also lookd like something a preppy college kid would have drove 15 years ago. I could grab second with enough force to make the wiper selector fall down a notch and turn the wipers on, was a neat trick to show my friends. The car had an o2 sensor code that made it pig rich at idle and fuel economy suffered. Never got it figured out and the wife made me sell it. Would I own another? sure, and would also take another shelby charger.

Kind of a sucker for a car with a turbo.

My son's have or have had several of the turbo talons~ Lasers fwd and awd. They are fun cars that respond real well to performance modifications. A word of caution Change the timing belts and tensioner!! I have seen ALOT of the 2.0's that break a belt and then you have a problem. Best case scenerio is bent valves worst case bent valves and holes in your pistons.
Torque steer is fun isn't it?
