Pics not displaying...Red X

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before but I can't find the threads...I can't display a lot of the pictures in threads... all I see is a small box with a red X in it...if I right Click and select "Show Picture" nothing happens...is this a setting I need to change on my PC...or is this something with the firewall ?...this is on my PC at work...

I get that at work sometimes too. It's usually when someone puts a link in their post that points to a image on another website, like imagestation.com or photobucket.com. Those type 'sites are blocked at our place, so the images don't show up and I get the X. They call it personal online storage or some **** and don't want you going there. Maybe that is what's happening for you?

Hmmm.
