whats seems to be the best angle for hooking up at the track? didnt have much luck friday:rolleyes:

shouldn't have to change it. stock is 5-7 degrees i think. i know plenty,me include that have 1.5 60ft on stock arms. probably something you overlooked

It has metco aluminum lowers, adjustable uppers, ATR bar. I have no idea what its set at now.

Mmmm...not sure...I think that stock is more like 1-2 degrees...5-7 deg. is a lot!...Mine is set at 3-4 deg. and today, I got my best 60ft. time ever (1.42) with that setting.

+1 i think mine is around -3

Pinion angle really has nothing to do with 60'. You want the pinion to be in line with the driveshaft under acceleration. The type of bushing material is going to give you your pinion angle. The softer the material, the more angle you are going to have compared to something more soild.

The angle is measured between the pinion and the driveshaft.

-4 is most common for a pro ladder bar set-up. I have mine set at -2 for the street. It is hard to hook the car hard enough on the street to achieve the straightness desired when setting it further. At the track, -4 is easy if the car hooks good. The pinion angle hasnt really got anything to do with the 60'.

If you are running poor 60's look at:
Tire pressures
Is the car transferring weight correctly or is it stiff
Do you need air bag/ dont need air bag
Leaving with too much/not enough boost
Better trailing arms ( if your making enough HP to need them)
Traction at the start line sucked( This is common at many test and tune nights)

Speaking of "trailing arms" or better known as "control arms", I just replaced the lower ones I had (H&R non adjustable with polyurethane bushings) with some Wolfe adjustables with rod-ends and I found a big difference in the way the car leaves the line. I even got my personal best 60ft. of 1.42, leaving off the foot brake, (NO trans brake! )...
Although the H&R's are good, it gets to a point when you're making a lot of power, even some urethane bushings are simply too soft and the rear axle moves too much from side to side and also the bushings compress too much on hard launches...
