Tried to take my axles out to install wheel studs last night. But found that the bolt that holds the Pinion shaft in is broken (part of it is in the Carrier).:( Any one have any ideas on how to take the broken piece out of the carrier? And a new bolt part #.
Thanks,
Guy

Are you talking about the nut on the outside of the rearend? If that's the one, you'll need another ring and pinion. I'm surprised you didn't hear or feel it. It's preloaded when you set the gears.

Hey Paul,
No, It's the small bolt that locks the Pinion shaft (the bar you have to take out of the carrier to remove the C clips) in the carrier.

Oh... the shaft that keeps the axles from moving in. How did that bolt break? there is no stress on it, it's just to keep the shaft in place and the spiders ride on it. Sorry, no part numbers here. YOu can try to drill it and extract it out.
