Pinion snubber, to use or not to use? That is the question!

I found a Billet pinion snubber in my box-o-parts and I'm wondering if I should use it or not?? The car is lowered. I'm thinking not! But what is the advantages of an extended pinion snubber??? Thanks! ----Jeremy
