Pins on new hood ornament too narrow

The pins on the new hood ornament base that I got are slightly undersized for the old speednuts so they don't hold it . Any ideas on how to deal with that? JB Weld? Low temp solder?

Take the ornament to Autozone etc and look for some new speed nuts that will fit. I am pretty sure you can find them in the "help" aisle.

I found some "thread cutting nuts" at PoopBoys ( miss named them speed nuts). They had 2 sizes so I bought both just in case. All set now.
