I recently took the throttle body and plenum off my car to clean them and the gasket that goes between the intake manifold and the plenum broke. Of corse no parts stor had the gasket in stock so i have to wait until monday to get the replacement gasket, so i want to autozone and got some of that silicone gasket seal and along with the old gasket i put the plenum and everything back together. When i started that car the check engine light came on. If there isn't a good seal there could that be the reason for the light?

I would not believe you got a bad enough vacuum leak to cause a SES light - check your sensors and wiring in the area

Scanmaster

I think i want to buy a scanmaster for my car so i can tell what is going on with it. I wanted to learn a little bit more about how they work and what kind of information that they will give me?
