i was at murrays/o,riellys auto parts today and asked about ac-delco plug wires they said they had them so i bought them theses wires have the correct part number 616f, they are 8mm, but they are black i thought the all stock wires for my gn were grey. are theses wires o.k or are they a cheap repro. packed in an ac-delco box? they do say ac-delco on them but i know some things are outsourced like some of the ac oil filters and such. thanks for any info. by the way they were only 30.00 bucks:confused:

I bought the same ones from ABC auto and the work great. Im pretty sure they are the real deal. I believe the stock ones were gray but things change sometime. Im sure you'll be fine with them

The factory original plug wires were grey and each was numbered with respect to each cylinder.

Any replacement AC Delco wires are black in color and are not numbered. There was a "problem" with the replacement AC Delco wires in that these replacement wires were not the original lengths. Kind of like a universal kit. So getting them to fit just like the originals were routed was not possible.

So you have to be careful that the excess wire length doesn't end up some place it may get damaged. the wires can get cut by the "ribs" in the upper manifold (dog house) and sometimes the excess length is lost by the headers.

If you wanted correct length grey wires, Kirban's sells them. they are plain grey with no numbers
