Hey Guys,

I am trying to hook up a new dishwasher and need some help.

The water valve I have comes straight out from the wall and I need and elbow for the compression fitting outlet to turn it 90 degrees.

What type of thread is the compression fitting side? It measures just over 1/2" and is fine thread.

I have been looking on McMaster Carr trying to find an elbow but I am not sure which one will fit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Why not go to Lowe's or where you bought the dishwasher and buy the hook up kit? It will have what you need to hook up pretty much any dishwasher..

SW.

I assume you are talking about the shutoff valve at the wall.
On ours, we had to replace that valve with a 1-in 2-out shutoff valve.

yes the shut-off valve is the problem. There is not enough clearance with the dishwasher pushed in.

I think I will have to replace the valve. I was just hoping to forgo all that trouble.

Ahhhh now it makes sense.

Tee off the hot or cold valves under the sink and run the tubing thru the cabinet to the DW.

Read the DW paperwork and see if it has a heater. If it has a heater, then you can tap into the cold side for some energy savings.

What size tubing is going to the dishwasher?

Looking for one of these?

Thanks Billy. There is a hard copper line coming straight out from the wall in the space for the dish washer.

Yup, I will have to install a valve like you have shown to gain some clearance when the new dish washer is pushed in.
