Hey guys, my paint job is now around 5 weeks old and looks great. Now I want to go over it with polish and then wax. Have a few questions:
1. Can you polish by hand or do I need a rotary tool?
2. With new paint should I just do wax only and wait til next summer for polish and wax?
3. How long should I wait with 5 week old paint? (car has base and clear)
Thanks in advance!
Patrick

Call your painter Paint jobs today with a good clear coat require minimal waxing/polishing.

Was it already wetsanded and buffed by the paint shop?...Mike

I wouldn't wax new paint for at least 6 months. It takes that long for all the solvents to escape. Just use a detailer that does not contain wax for now.

Like others said you should wait 6 months on a new paint job. At that point if you want to polish and wax you can do it by hand. No reason to use a buffer on new paint.

A light polish will be fine if needed, just don't use any sealing products yet...Mike
