My girlfriend is ready for a new car, and we came across a 2006 G6 GTP with 27k miles on it today at Carmax. Its pearl white with tan leather interior, convertible hardtop  and overall very nice. Sits on some 18's, i think theyre OEM. Anyway, the car is just under $18k. With her trade-in (2000 Celica GT-S with 114k) it would be $15,484 out the door with tax, tags, title, etc. Kelly Blue Book on the car is $20k, and the closest dealer selling one at a comparable price (found via craigslist) was $18,000 with 35k on it. I liked the car alot and so did she, but i dont know too much about them. Anyone that wants to chime in would be greatly appreciated!

Buddy of mine's 05 GTO with M6 gets 28 hiway......not too shabby at all. From the reviews I read the G6 GTP is prone to front suspension problems, hth.

alright, well, they didnt have a GTO available...

She is looking at the G6, and i was wondering if someone could chime in on the G6
Thanks

Same thing as a Saturn Aura which I work on everyday. I dont care for them. Quality of those models are not even close to japanese. Electrical, steering, noisy brakes, fluid leaks are some of the common problems. just my opinion. 4cyl motor has less problems. Either way dont buy without an extended warrenty.

Don't know about a GTP

I just sold a loaded 2007 G6 V-6 with 47K miles for $10,000. Beautiful car--perfect condition. Great driving car with 30 MPG.

Being an auto insurance appraiser, I deal with total losses and vehicle values everyday. It doesn't sound good to me. When I heard Carmax, before I even checked it out, I knew she was getting a good deal. First of all Kelley Blue Book is total crap. It's completely inflated. If you want a true representation, check out Nada.com. Run the car through there and tell us what you get, I would but you have to check all the options. Look at her car too. You should be getting around $4-5k for her car on trade.
