I also have just an xp 240. Its o2 , knock events, and knock retard have allowed me to tune fairly well. My TR which is fairly abused as purchased got 8-13 mpg. So far I'm running just as hard, getting 10-21mpg while running less boost (was 20 now its 17) . However im still fighting knocks of up to 7%
on hot days. My goal is 20 psi on 93 octane while running alky. Anyhow the xray has saved me . Its way better than nothing! It just seems a bit ambiguous and no one seems to know how oftedn it updates itself. It leaves me not exactly sure when my knock, or etc., is occuring. You kinda have to get a feel for it. Also Make sure it is updated-mine gave total nonsencse and they updated it for free back in 1997. Taht was latest on it. They also cant answer how many frames /second it scans at. Also , never use it to set dwell on old mixture control solenoid carbs-its totally out to lunch there!

Thanks,At least I know that I can get started with what I have.
I just always used the 6cyl.dwell scale on a multimeter when I had to set the mixture control solenoid.
Different challenges await me tuning this thing vs. a carburetor on an 86 305.

I think all of the "original ECM" scan tools (scanmaster, xray, OTC & turbolink) scan at roughly one data frame a second (mine does) A nice feature is a "record" function which means you dont' have to watch the scan tool as you drive. Does the xray have this?

I have a KB adjustable fuel press. regulator.
Also, the xp240 has a "capture" mode in which while you are driving you can capture data 14 seconds before and after a given point.

hey guys.... i have green band injectors on my 87 gn....my question is....what does 2 and 3 hole mean...i want to find out which ones i have........ they were on the car when i bought it....thanks

2 and 3 holes is in reference to the number of holes in the tip of the injector.
