Popping fixed

I switched back from steel shim head gaskets to stock 87 Composite head gaskets and all my WOT popping is gone. I think the steel shims raised my compression too much for the 93 octane I normally run. Well, there is a solution to a notorious case of the popping at WOT....that problem sucked. I switched out everything from coil packs, ignition modules, plugs....etc... but the stock gaskets fixed my problem. I guess it makes since because I never got this problem until my last rebuild in which I installed steel shim gaskets thinking they were the 87 OEM replacements. I know, I know...plenty of people run them on 87's, but they required too much octane for me.
Another thing that might of been causing the popping was an exhaust leak on the driver's side header??? I fixed that also...don't know if that would cause popping but it was there.

Well, I am running 16 to 17 psi on 93 octane with a ta-49 with high flow heads. Car is running like a bat outta hell.
I am adding my alky kit shortly to bump a few more psi into the set up.:)
