I'm trying to track down a problem with spool up and have noticed that my the exhaust side of my compressor housing (Precision .63 on a te44) is a bit rusted.

The previous owner of the turbo I have used alky injection. The wastegate puck is not centered on the WG hole, but it is covering the hole.

Could porousity in or around the WG hole cause sealing problems?

Not likely. Spool up problems can usually be traced to one or more of several things.

Leaks in pre turbo exhaust.

too tight of a torque converter.

Chip too rich on the bottom of P/E curve

etc.
