My car was a non-posi from the factory. I had a friend put in an Eaton 28 spline (stock size) posi in. Think it was maybe the second mod I did way back when. Love it. Tight, strong and quiet. Got it from http://www.gearsareus.com/ along with their install kit. I used GM posi additive too.

WE-2 is the GN package rpo. All 84-87 TR's are 3.42 ratio. G-80 was the posi rpo but could have been replaced with a non posi unit by an owner and vice versa. Get both rear wheels off the ground and spin one of the tires. If both spin posi only one spins non posi.

Yes you can, you might have to reset the pinion depth and side to side clearance on your ring in order to have the correct backlash in other words how the ring and pinion mesh together....if your not familiar with the process its best to get someone to set it up for you that knows or you will have noise and wear issues real qwik..
