Check the rpo in the trunk.G80 posi G87 peg leg.

86 Regal W-11/CC-1T Type

No TR came with G-80 posi. You had to order it as an option and was $100.

This is not correct, G80 means it is a locking differential (posi) the G87 code means it's an 8.5
10 bolt rear. G87 is NOT a designation for a peg leg or open rear end.

Maybe some veterans can chime in here, as I may be wrong on this but I believe that all late production 87 GN's were equipped with posi standard. Again this could be wrong

my 87 GN didn't have a posi unit and came with aluminum drums

Again I not 100% on this as there seems to be some speculation but it appears cars built with aluminum drums were open rears and posi cars had iron drums.

Most 87 did have posi but the 84,85 and 86 was a different ballgame. I was sticking to the year the op posted.

A couple of WE-4 owners on here said the same thing. G-80 had iron drums.

This does seem to be the case, both of my cars are posi and had iron drums from the factory. Of course I corrected this problem ;)
