Posi S Spring, how hard to R&R for new clutches?

Title says it all, how hard is it to get the spring in and out while doing new clutches w/ the carrier in the car? Found out today my posi has taken a permanent vacation and my old stickey retreads blew a chunk out, time for some nittos, whos got the best price for 275/50/15's?

Been a few years since the last time I did clutches, but the spring wasn't all that bad. I used a pair of vise-grip pliers to squish, so I could get it started, then just tapped it in the rest of the way. The worst part was the SMELL!
