Post Cam Break-in question

After the initial 20-30 minute/2000-2500 rpm cam break-in procedure are you good to go, or are you supposed to baby the thing like a whole new engine for 500 miles?
I always thought you were good to go after that first break-in process, but wanted to see what you guys thought. I guess I should have been asking this a few days ago.......Ive only hit it up a couple times .

I change the oil right after breakin then baby it for 500 or so miles and change the oil again.

main thing for breakin is getting rings seated in cylinders
