Anyone know best place to get a replacement power antenna? I can get a rebuilt one for an 87 gn from gbodyparts. I haven't been able to find anyone else with anything but those universal ones. Anybody have luck with those?

Gbody will rebuild your own antenna. That is what I had done to mine. All the universal ones I seen were all to short.

The motor just kept running. Aerial did not move. I wanted to keep the original antenna. Most of the problems are that the cable inside breaks.

I previously wrote about this to another member who asked the same question, and maybe you might want to do the same:

GBodyParts has the internal cable w/antenna replacement: http://www.gbodyparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=323&osCsid=c5d402cb1450ad640b5776ce70ae04cf

Or do what one of the board member did: http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/th...for-less-than-2-and-never-break-again.369135/

Your choice

Thanks, if I need to fix again I will try to solder it myself.

Thanks again

Just read the whole story since Charlie talks about using a rosin flux in addition for better penetration to the solder

hello; If you want to keep the PA there is some work to do as what was previously written is one way. But if mine craps out (I read somewhere) is to buy a powered antenna that's sold for MC and cap off the hole in the fender. This is from what I read and it might be my way to go.

I wish this forum has a section on how to define the short terms, and word abbreviations.
So with that being said what is MC?
Thanks

I'm 22 years old and a computer programmer and I don't know what most of the acronyms mean.

I guess acronyms means:
4 bits equal to 1 nibble
8 bits /2 nibbles equals 1 byte
16 bits/3 nibbles/2 bytes equals 1 word x2 and I'm back to where I started of what are the two words abbreviation?

hello; I don't know most of the abbreviations but MC is just motor cycle. If you look into it could you post what you come up with.
Was it uncool to have the regular NON power antenna?
hello; Cool is cool in your eyes and if a NPA is cool for you do it. I had one of the short black flexable ones on a car I had and I thought that was cool.

I unplugged antenna right at the fender and tried power to just the antenna and there is not a sound. I think its the motor because there is absolutely nothing with power supplied to the motor. Its been in the down position since I got the car. Its completely stock.

Did you connect the wires correctly? If not, then here is a print of which wire to use to raise the antenna.

I'll double check tomorrow and make sure I check it correctly before I order one thanks.
