Just finished replacing mine as well as the power steering pressure hose & steel line + new PS reservoir & supply / return hoses.
-for safety you should disconnect the battery 1st.
-remove MAF pipe & MAF
-loosen alternator ( no need to remove)
-remove serpentine belt & then pulley / tensioner assembly
-an 18mm crows foot wrench will remove the power steering pressure hose quite easily if you need to remove this.
-the steel "C" shaped power steering line uses a 5/8" wrench...again a crows foot wrench will make this job easy at the pump connection, so get this one too.
-5/8" wrench fits the other end where it connects to the flexible pressure hose as well
-use a bucket to catch the fluid that is about to leak out
-Kirbans & GBody & NOS4GN all offer a stainless power steering replacement line
- be sure to lubricate the new "O" rings with power steering fluid before you install them onto the lines
- don't torque to more than 30#
- raise car so front wheels are off the ground, then top up the PS reservoir with fresh PS fluid
-rotate steering L& R to full lock several times, keeping an eye out to be sure the fluid stays topped up, this will help to prime your pump
- do this several times & wait for all the air bubbles to dissipate before proceeding
- reconnect tensioner & install serpentine belt
- install MAF pipe & MAF
- disconnect ECM at battery
-crank for 10 seconds, while at the same time turning the steering wheel lock to lock L&R at the same time
- do this several times ensuring your PS reservoir is does not run low (top up as necessary)
- lower front wheels to the ground & proceed with cranking for 10 seconds turning wheel Left to Right
- you should be able to start the car now
-keep an eye on the fluid level
-it should work out the rest of the air in the days / miles ahead.
