The powerlogger hardware is not talking to my windows 7 laptop.I mean the computer does not recognize the powerlogger as a device (no sound or visual that a new device has been recognized by my computer).I have a hard time believeing that the computer needs the windows 7 specific drivers in the powerlogger folder to recognize that a device has been added.I have carefully gone through the hardware installation process (cleaning the varnish off the ecm board with goo gone) and examined the board diagnostic connectors to assure that they were not damaged. My scanmaster is receiving what I think is wideband data in hex or octal, but no other functions are available. My firewire is fully engaged to the laptop and the powerlogger board.I tried the different ports on my laptop and that was no go.I got bogged down when trying to identify "the comm port" and the file name.It makes sense that the computer not see the powerlogger hardware as a new device until the com port and file name are loaded?? What is the comm port number that I should be using? Also I assume that the file name is the windows 7 specific driver which I have loaded in my powerlogger folder. (has someone used the windows 7 specific driver and what's its name?) I believe this is a case of user (me the user) error and not the hardware.Any help is greatly appreciated.
