Sick of chasing my tail. What all do I need to use a powerlogger? Do i have to get a scanmaster 2.1?

You do not have to get a scanmaster but its a good idea unless you like keeping an open laptop in you car at call times.

The logger us just that, though it does show you real time data. Use it to tune and record runs. Use a scanmaster for quick glance at real time.

I need it to record my runs. I have posted threads about my sputter issue and really need to log to see what's going on.

I'm still learning about this myself, but my understanding is that the scanmaster plugs into the PL which gives it faster readings. There's mention about an update chip for the scanmaster if you use it with the PL, but am unsure which version (2.1?) needs the chip. You have to use a wideband that's listed in the drop down menu on the PL so you can log AFR.
Again, I'm not 100% sure here...just trying to stir the pot to help you(and me) get answers.

Calling Dr. Bailey, Calling Dr. Bailey - please report to this thread. STAT! :D

The scan master itself has an upgrade or update for a faster refresh.

Yes Earl I agree....vista pissed me off to no end with PL.

For the OP's benefit, you don't have to have a Scanmaster running with Powerlogger, BUT....... It' makes life so much easier when you're just out driving around and don't want to have to be messing with a laptop. It' provides nice visual cues. Scanmaster ver. 2.2 runs with the Powerlogger, Scanmaster ver. 2.1 is run independent from powerlogger, but has a slower display.
Hope that answers your question.

The scanmaster with powerlogger will also show the wideband afr if you don't have a gauge with your wideband o2, FYI. The scanmaster wideband numbers will replace the narrowband numbers.
