Powermaster likes clean fluid

just had a familiar PM incident -
brake light stays on the pedal gets stiff .

looked at the fluid and it was black and looked a bit like a kids science project growing in the fridge guess a bit of water contamination over time --

a few flush and fills cleared up the fluid and also the problem --

- so what is the reccomendation for brake fluid change intervals -

anyone else run into this ?

my procedure

drain out the fluid put in clean fluid and did the car off brake pump dance.

removed the pressure switch and accumulator to make sure they was no gunk on them or in their holes.

repelat the flush and fill process three times until the fluid is clear after the pump up routine.

- update -

just so I did not create the wrong impression,

the fluid change apeared to be only a short term repreive for my PM.

It started acting up again.

It is now sitting on a shelf in the garage while a vacuum unit is being put through its paces

anyone need a relatively new accumulator or pressure switch
or
maybe I should be looking for a low miles / inexpensive rebuild PM as my backup alternative

I would send out the accumulator for the price of a billet vacuum block

Trade is welcome, for both suggest something I'm flexible.

I have a whole new unit minus the accum. So what does a billet vac block run nowadays?

You could buy a new PM from Autozone. I have one as a spare and it cost me 145.00 or something like that ( iam using that accum in my orig PM). Has a lifetime warranty.
