Took my car out for a spin today when I notice the red brake light lit up in my instrument panel and my brakes because very hard as I tried to stop. The brake pedal is very hard and it barely stops the car. I replace my Accumulator about 2 years ago. But the car has been sitting for about 10 months because I was rebuilding the motor. I just got it running about a month ago. Could it be the Accumulator again or the Powermaster itself? How can I figure it out? I don't want to buy another Accumulator if thats not my problem. Brake is very hard when you push it when car is on. Any suggestions I would appreciate. NEED HELP!!:(

Does The Autozone Unit include the accumlator. How does it work compare to the stock unit. Did you feel any difference?

It comes w/ everything, pump(painted black), mastercyl, accum, and switch, I've only put about 40 miles on it since I put it on last wkend but it cycles very fast and builds pressure w/ key on very fast. I'm planning on replacing the cast iron proportioning valve w/ the brass one as the instructions say it voids the warranty but how would they know. And plan to bleed the entire system one good final time and hopefully go another 15 yrs and 109K w/ only one accum. replacement. $61 core by the way which I'm keeping because I figure the accum and switch are good and you sure can't buy those 2 pieces for 61 bucks. The only difference I saw was the black painted pump but it looked like the same pump.

Yea, it took me a while, I tend to take my time on the car not trying to set any records so I spent most of a Sat. afternoon on it. I didn't have a vise to bench bleed and it didn't come w/ a tubing bleeder kit as I guess they thought I would have a friend to help me or something so I went back and had them give me a kit for a 87 Monte SS :D LOL, once I had it I did it on the car and bled w/ the pedal and for some reason getting the pump rod on and off the brake pedal was a real pain.

Hey Mark,
Just a hint if ya needed it, the dealer will install brass prop vlve for freee;) as it was a campaign-recall.

Mark,

Whats the Autozone part # for that setup you bought?

I called 3 of them today and none of them know what the heck they are talking about.

Thanks

I also need the complete powermaster autozone part number! I can drive my car without it! :(
